In order to implement the instructions on emergency management and disaster prevention, reduction and rescue, promote integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta Region (YRD Region), advance coordinated development of emergency management in the YRD Region, facilitate domestic and foreign exchanges and cooperation in emergency management, boost disaster prevention, mitigation and rescue capabilities, and bring awareness to emergency management, decision has been made that Yangtze River Delta International Emergency Disaster Reduction & Rescue Expo, or EDRR, will be jointly-organized. The expo is one of the highlight events during the 5·12 National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Week of the YRD Region.
The government-led, market-oriented expo aims to be an internationally influential, authoritative, and forward-looking event that is compatible with the social and economic development of the YRD Region, as it serves to strengthen government emergency management system construction, disaster response technology and equipment, medical system construction, disaster response materials supply, military-civilian integration industry, emergency communication and command, transportation and logistics, special equipment and public education at multiple levels on disaster prevention and mitigation.
